A crew starts the day with a quick tailgate meeting about the tasks that need to be completed, followed by a quick review of safety tips, and then off to work. Most days the job gets done, and everyone goes home safely. However, sometimes accidents happen and sometimes people get hurt on the job.

At Builders Trust we have seen many claims involving subcontractors. A savvy business owner will ask the subcontractor to provide a certificate of insurance to show that they have current workers’ compensation coverage. There may even be a written agreement between the parties stating who is responsible for providing coverage of the subcontractor’s employees.

Our Field Safety department regularly schedules and teaches safety classes throughout the state all year long. However, did you know that we are also available, with a little advance notice, to teach safety classes such as OSHA 10 & 30, First Aid & CPR and many more on an as needed basis?
